A DONE DEAL The news we've all been waiting for: The new MLS season will go ahead as planned. After days of negotiations, MLS and the MLS Players Union have agreed terms on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. 2. DEFEAT IN VICTORY Although D.C. United beat Alajuelense in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal, the 2-1 scoreline (HIGHLIGHTS) was not enough to overcome their large defeat from the first leg, leaving the score 6-4 on aggregate. 3. LAST TEAMS STANDING United's defeat leaves the Montreal Impact as MLS' lone competitor in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League. Liga MX is in the same boat, with Club América the only team representing Mexico after their second-leg victory over Deportivo Saprissa. The Impact will now face Alajuelense in the semifinals, while Club América wait on Thursday's result between Herediano and Olimpia (8 pm ET, Fox Sports 2, Univision Deportes). 4. FILLING THE BOWL ... A LITTLE MORE As Orlando City prepare the Citrus Bowl for Sunday's season opener (5 pm ET on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, WatchESPN), there will be even more fans in attendance after the club made 2,000 additional, standing-room-only tickets available on Wednesday. The club have also added a giant of a new team partner after reaching a deal with Walt Disney World. 5. SO, YOU'RE SAYING THERE'S A CHANCE? It looks like Sporting Kansas City fans might not want to get too attached to teenage defender Erik Palmer-Brown, as SKC CEO Robb Heinemann has indicated a long-rumored move to Juventus is likely for the young defender, stating, "I'd say it's an 80-20 thing that it will happen." 6. RAPIDS ADD STRIKER While Gabriel Torres is looking to bounce back after a disappointing second season in MLS, the Colorado Rapids Designated Player has more company up top after the club signed fourth-round SuperDraft selection Dominique Badji. 7. PARMA PLAYER EYES MLS With Italian side Parma in serious crisis, it seems that at least one of their players is looking to jump off the sinking ship, with Uruguayan international Cristian "El Cebolla" Rodriguez telling a radio program that he's seeking a move to either the US or Brazil as he looks for playing time ahead of this summer's Copa América. 8. NGUYEN PLAYED THROUGH THE PAIN Will Lee Nguyen's groin injury keep him out of the New England Revolution's season opener? The 2014 MVP finalist isn't certain just yet, but did suggest that the injury can be traced all the way back to last year's postseason push. Meanwhile, teammate Diego Fagundez is ready to recapture his fine form from 2013. 9. RED BULL REUNIONS Having been reunited with former boss Jesse Marsch, Felipe is looking to bring something special to the New York Red Bulls. He is not the only former Montreal Impact player for whom this is a reunion, as the team has reportedly signed defender Karl Ouimette following an impressive trial with the club. 10. No official word from Beckham's group on the news. 13. DONEIL'S DEBUT Doneil Henry has made his debut in English soccer and, more than that, he went the full 90 minutes in his side's 2-1 win. However, it wasn't with West Ham United, as the Canadian defender was sent on loan to Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship yesterday, just hours before the game. 14. US AND CANADA WNTs EARN WINS As national teams continue their preparations for this summer's FIFA World Cup, the US women's national team came from behind to beat Norway 2-1 in their opening game of the Algarve Cup, while Canada took control of the Cyprus Cup following a 2-0 victory over Scotland on the first day of that competition. 15. STANDING UNOPPOSED While Sepp Blatter faces opposition in the FIFA presidential elections this time around, the leadership of CONCACAF looks set to continue unchanged as Jeffrey Webb will apparently stand unopposed for re-election as president of the regional soccer governing body.
