Seattle Sounders backup goalkeeper Josh Ford was Orlando City's only selection during Thursday's Re-Entry Draft, but a much bigger name appears to be on his way after Stoke City manager Mark Hughes confirmed the two clubs are currently finalizing a deal for US international Brek Shea. The Lions will live stream a press conference for a "major announcement" on Friday at 1 pm ET. 2. RE-ENTRY COMPLETE The Stage 2 Draft of the MLS Re-Entry Process saw eight players selected. The Montreal Impact snagged Chicago Fire center back Bakary Soumare with the #1 pick. Any eligible players not selected in the Re-Entry Process are now available to MLS clubs on a first come, first served basis. 3. LANDON PICKS UP ANOTHER AWARD He may be retired, but Landon Donovan is still collecting accolades. On Thursday, he was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Premios Univision Deportes in Miami. 4. TFC LAY OUT VISION Toronto FC held a meeting on Thursday in which the club laid out its vision for the future and while most of that talk involved the club's plans for player development and long-term success, inevitably attention turned to Jermain Defoe's status with the club. 5. REVOLUTION ADD OPTIONS One player who isn't part of Toronto FC's vision for the future is defender Jeremy Hall, who was traded to the New England Revolution in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2015 SuperDraft. There he'll be joined by Tristan Bowen, after the Revolution acquired the Seattle Sounders striker in the Re-Entry Draft. 6. SKC INTERNATIONAL SIGNINGS Sporting Kansas City signed two players on Thursday, securing the services of Chilean goalkeeper Luis Marin, who head coach Peter Vermes as well as Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth, who head coach Peter Vermes says fits perfectly in SKC's 4-3-3 formation and style. 7. MORE WHEELING AND DEALING FOR RSL Real Salt Lake have revamped many things this offseason, and on Thursday, reports indicated they have finalized a deal for Jamaican left back Demar Phillips, and also traded Sebastian Velasquez to New York City FC. No official word on either report, though. 8. NEW YORK CITY STORIES New York City FC are always making news, aren't they? On Thursday, they officially unveiled their local TV deal with the YES Network, discussed their options for USL PRO affiliates, and revealed how close they were to getting the land next to Yankee Stadium to build their own home. 9. DALLAS & DPS In a wide ranging interview with The Dallas Morning News, FC Dallas owner Dan Hunt discussed the club's USL PRO plans, their offseason needs, and whether they would ever go in for a high-priced DP. "You show me a deal, you show me an expensive player that's a deal and I think we've got something to talk about, right?" he says, while revealing that they "took a real run" at Sacha Kljestan last summer. 10. BERHALTER: CREW SC HAVE TO IMPROVE 2014 marked steady progress for Columbus Crew SC in Gregg Berhalter's first year as head coach, but he's obviously not satisfied. "There's no room for complacency. To be honest, we had a good year, but we didn't win so there's always room for improvement," he says. 11. TIMBERS GET THEIR SECOND MAN On Thursday the Portland Timbers confirmed the appointment of long-time Wake Forest University coach Jay Vidovich as the first head coach of the USL PRO outfit, Timbers 2. Vidovich will also serve as an assistant to Caleb Porter and the first team. 12. MIX TO MEXICO? Reports indicate that US international Mix Diskerud is on the verge of signing with Liga MX's Club Tijuana. It seems he's not the only one heading South of the border either, with reports suggesting that former Vancouver Whitecaps forward Omar Salgado is headed to Tigres. 13. FIRE SELL ANANGONO The Chicago Fire offloaded forward Juan Luis Anangono to Liga MX side Universidad de Guadalajara. The Ecuadoran finished his Windy City stint with 4 goals in 28 appearances. 14. MLSERS SHINE FOR UNDER-20S The US Under-20s' final preparations ahead of next month's 2015 CONCACAF Championships had a good start as the won the first of their two games against Honduras. Crew SC's Romain Gall and San Jose's Tommy Thompson scored the goals in the 2-1 victory. 15. ROGERS: WORLD CUPS IN RUSSIA & QATAR "INSANE" Following a breakthrough season for the LA Galaxy, many are pegging Robbie Roger as the next US national team left back. However, Rogers himself is less than impressed with the selection of hosts.
