Kick Off: The next look for MLS | Impact take control in CCL | Jermain Defoe nearly back?

Here are the top 15 stories everyone's talking about this morning:
1. WELCOME TO #MLSNEXT
The future of Major League Soccer came into view on Thursday morning with the unveiling of its new brand identity. More details at 11:15 am ET, with a live stream on MLSsoccer.com of a special MLS NEXT event.
2. IMPACT TOP RED BULLS IN CCL
The Montreal Impact need just a point to secure their progress into the CONCACAF Champions League knockout rounds following a 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls (HIGHLIGHTS). However, the Red Bulls aren't giving up just yet.
3. KRONBERG EYES RETURN FOR SKC
Sporting Kansas City play host to Deportivo Saprissa in tonight's CCL encounter (8 pm ET, Fox Sports 1) and after an extended absence through injury, the game could see Eric Kronberg make his return to the SKC line-up.
4. DEFOE READY TO RETURN?
Jermain Defoe is back in Toronto, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Englishman is ready to play just yet. When he returns will be a decision for coach Greg Vanney, who now has a whole new coaching staff to lean on.
5. CLARK'S CREW
Having taken the starting spot as goalkeeper this season, the Columbus Crew's Steve Clark has been wholly embraced by the club's fans. His statistics may not be leading the league, but the Crew staff understand just what he brings to the side.
6. MORALES ACTS YOUR AGE
Javier Morales may be 34-years-old now but watching the Real Salt Lake star play you would never know it. This isn't by chance though, as the RSL midfielder finds himself working harder than ever to help prolong his career.
7. MOYES TO PHILLY? WELL...
Despite the Philadelphia Union's strong performance in the US Open Cup, Jim Curtin's future as head coach is still up in the air. With former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes spotted at the Cup final on Tuesday, rumors were rampant that he is a candidate for the job. Not according to Union CEO Nick Sakiewicz.
8. EXPANSION DRAFT DAY
December 10th, that's the date for the MLS expansion draft, with other teams having to submit their protected player lists by December 8th. While both Orlando City and New York City FC will look to flesh out their rosters using the draft, it seems a number of clubs were interested in taking Orlando players the other way this season.
9. RBNY FUTURE PLANNING
With speculation continuing as to whether or not this is Thierry Henry's last season with the New York Red Bulls, many fans are curious to know who, if anyone, the club might replace him with. Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh will head to Austria for a "discussion about what's happening for next season."
10. PRO VIDEO
Refereeing in MLS has come on leaps and bounds since the introduction of the Professional Referees Organization and Peter Walton, general manager of PRO, has talked about where they could go next, saying in regards to video technology: "If we were asked to be a testing ground, then the answer would be yes."
11. MORRIS MAKING PLANS
Given Jurgen Klinsmann's previous comments about American college sports, many were surprised to see Jordan Morris get a US national team call-up late last month. None more so than Morris himself. With that first camp out of the way, though, he's looking toward the future.
12. YEDLIN DELAYED?
Watching DeAndre Yedlin's mad sprint during the US Open Cup final may have Tottenham Hotspur fans excited for his arrival but, given the problems Juan Agudelo's already had getting into the UK, could new work permit proposals delay the Seattle Sounders star's arrival in England?
13. ANOTHER JEWEL IN THE CROWN?
It appears that owning and operating one soccer team is no longer enough for Joey Saputo, as the Montreal Impact owner has apparently joined a group of investors looking to buy Italian side Bologna FC.
14. MIAMI NEWS ON THE WAY?
Things seem to have gone quiet on the MLS Miami front recently, but that might not be the case for much longer, as Marcelo Claure, one of Beckham's fellow investors, has suggested "I think we're in the final part of making some important announcements." In completely unrelated Florida news, the Ft. Lauderdale strikers seem to have a big announcement set for Friday.
15. SHARING IS CARING
While New York City FC explore other options for their soccer-specific stadium, they aren't the only soccer team in the area attempting to build a new home. Yet, with the New York Cosmos running up against similar obstacles, what if the two clubs decided to share a home? Meanwhile, ahead of a visit from MLS officials, Sacramento Republic FC have released renderings of what a proposed stadium at the Rail Yards might look like.
