THE GAMES CONTINUE As preseason action rolls on, there are four games for you today, including what looks set to be Kaká's first game in an Orlando City jersey. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, D.C. United drew 0-0 with Swedish side Jonkoping Sodra, while the LA Galaxy braved frigid temperatures to beat Georgetown University 2-1 as part of their visit to the nation's capital. 2. NEW DESIGNATED RAPID? Having said they would take their time to find the right fit, the Colorado Rapids' DP search may already be over, as sources indicate the club have signed 21-year-old Argentine midfielder Juan Ramirez from Argentinos Juniors as just the second Designated Player in Rapids history. Meanwhile, if you speak Spanish, you can hear directly from Colorado's confirmed signing, Lucas Pittinari. 3. RSL'S NEW DEFENDER? Are Real Salt Lake close to signing a new center back? Reports out of Guatemala suggest that 22-year-old national-teamer Elías Vásquez is set to complete a move to RSL and is already on his way to join his new team. 4. AVILA JUST WANTS TO PLAY Having completed his move to Orlando City on a one-year-loan from Santos Laguna, MLS veteran Eric Avila is happy to be in a situation in which he's likely to play, especially as head coach Adrian Heath sees his new man as being versatile enough to man multiple positions for the Lions. 5. CREW CLEARED FOR CAMPBELL While there was some uncertainty over the future of Columbus Crew SC draft pick Sergio Campbell, there was good news for the young defender after it was announced on Tuesday thata deal has been reached allowing the MLS side to sign their selection. 6. ARENA SETS THE WORLD TO RIGHTS Does President Obama think the SuperDraft needs more rounds? Is Bruce Arena privy to the USA's nuclear strategy? Will Freddy Adu ever play for the Galaxy? MAKING NEW FRIENDS Troy Perkins joined the Seattle Sounders this offseason after spending more than two years with the Montreal Impact. Prior to that, though, Perkins played for the Portland Timbers and, having become the latest player to have signed on both sides of the fierce rivalry, the goalkeeper discussed what that might mean in 2015. 8. VETERAN HAND The New York Red Bulls have a new assistant coach after officially announcing the hiring of Denis Hamlett. The former Chicago Fire head coach has worked with Marsch before, in Montreal, and will be working on his fourth MLS coaching staff. 9. IS SOARES STAYING OR GOING? While Juan Agudelo is happy to be returning to the New England Revolution after his European adventure fell flat, another New England player might not even get his started, as it seems that A.J. Soares' move to Italian side Hellas Verona is in danger of collapsing and, in a way, former MLSer Rafa Marquez's may be to blame. 10. NO INTEREST FROM NEW YORK Antonio Di Natale to MLS? Perhaps the rumors may be true, but not when it comes to New York. Both the Red Bulls and New York City FC have been quick to deny any interest in the lethal Serie A goal scorer. 11. CUBO ON THE MARK They might be struggling when it comes to the league table, but Chivas Guadalajara are in second place in Group 4 of the Copa MX after their latest win on Tuesday. FOCUS ON LONG-TERM SOLUTION With the Miami-Dade County Commission pushing for the use of FIU as a temporary home, a spokesman for David Beckham's MLS group has stated that, while all options will be considered,their focus remains on finding a suitable location for a permanent home. 13. SUPPORTING CHANGE There will be three candidates standing against incumbent Sepp Blatter at the next elections for the FIFA presidency and the US Soccer Federation has reportedly thrown their weight behind Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan. 14. Jurgen Klinsmann has lamented what he perceives as a lack of preseason fitness on his squad but, as Jermaine Jones becomes the first player to openly express discomfort with his role in the USA's new 3-5-2 formation, is it time for Klinsmann to consider that maybe fitness isn't the problem? 15. R.I.P. FRANK BORGHI The US soccer community was saddened to learn on Tuesday about the passing of Frank Borghi, the goalkeeper from the famous 1950 US World Cup team that stunned England with a 1-0 victory, and one who also served in World War II. Aged 89, Borghi's passing leaves Walter Bahr as the only surviving member of that historic team, and Bahr spoke fondly about his former teammate.
